Firm recognized as both a Best Firm for Women and for Leadership Equity based on strong representation of women among partners and principals

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 09, 2016

Frazier & Deeter CPAs & Advisors has been named one of the top 10 Best CPA Firms for Women in the U.S. in a joint announcement made by the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance and the American Women’s Society of Certified Public Accountants (AWSCPA). Frazier & Deeter was also recognized for Leadership Equity as a firm at which more than 30% of partners and principals are women.

“This honor is especially meaningful because it reflects the importance Frazier & Deeter places on facilitating the careers of women and our efforts to support parents as they attempt to balance the needs of work and family,” stated Seth McDaniel, Managing Partner of Frazier & Deeter. “Our profession has always struggled with retaining women, but we recognize that finding ways to help women succeed and advance helps our firm as a whole.”

“It’s exciting to see Frazier & Deeter receive recognition for helping women realize our potential as we advance through the ranks,” said Terri Lawson, Partner-in-Charge of Frazier & Deeter’s Tax Practice. “As a partner who has been with the firm since the beginning of my career, I believe the support and flexibility the firm provides to women at different stages of life is especially helpful in retaining women on the path to partner.”

In addition to its track record regarding women’s advancement within the firm, Frazier & Deeter also seeks to help women elsewhere in the business community. The firm’s Women’s Business Leadership Program provides financial support, peer interaction and leadership programming for women executives and business owners. The program, which is active across Georgia, Florida and Tennessee, recently celebrated the fifth anniversary.

The Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance and the AWSCPA jointly sponsor the Accounting MOVE project, which surveys CPA firms across the nation to determine the state of women in the industry.

Frazier & Deeter was named one of 10 Best Public Accounting Firms for Women based on an extensive survey process that evaluated a variety of factors. The report of Best CPA Firms for Women cited that the firms being honored in 2016 have demonstrated:

    • Consistent, measurable progress in advancing women to leadership
    • Proven and evolving programs that retain and advance women
    • Clear and compelling integration of the business case for advancing women

    Leadership Equity
According to project MOVE, this year women comprise 23% of the partners and principals at the firms that participated in the MOVE study, the profession’s only annual benchmark of the status of women in the leadership pipeline. This is a marked increase from 2012’s 17%. Frazier & Deeter was recognized based on the firm’s 31.4% of partners and principals who are female.

“Progress is accelerating at MOVE firms,” said Joanne Cleaver, president of Wilson-Taylor Associates, Inc., the firm that designed and manages the Accounting MOVE Project. “Leading MOVE firms have figured what works, and they are re-investing in proven strategies.”

Frazier & Deeter was previously cited for leadership equity in the 2014 Project MOVE, and was named one of the 2015 top Accounting Firms to Work For by Accounting Today.

    About the Accounting MOVE project
