She'll share her vision for transportation in Tampa Bay as well as her story of leading in a male-dominated industry.
About Our Speaker:
Katharine Eagan, AICP, is Chief Executive Officer of the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority. HART averages over 52,000 passenger trips a day and is on track for over 15 million trips in FY15 on local and express bus, flex services, HARTPlus paratransit, and the TECO Line Streetcar.
Ms. Eagan officially took the helm of HART November 2014, after six months as the interim CEO and nearly three years as Chief Operating Officer. During her tenure, ridership has increased over 20% and farebox recovery has increased over 25%; during the same time, service miles have expanded 4% and the operating budget has expanded 5%.
Ms. Eagan was a 2014 finalist for the Tampa Bay Business Journals’ Businesswoman of the Year award, and is one of the Business Journal’s 2016 People to Watch. She was the National Association of Women in Construction’s Tampa Rookie of the Year in her inaugural year, and in the incoming Vice President for the Tampa Bay chapter. She was part of the 2012 Mass Transit's 40 under 40 List.
