Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope. Habitat is a hand-up, not a hand out as we provide zero-interest mortgages to qualified low-income homebuyers to make homeownership affordable. We build strength, stability and self-reliance to homebuyers by equipping them with homebuyer education, requiring homebuyers to provide sweat equity building their home and the homes of others, and offering the affordable mortgage. Affordable housing can allow low-income families the ability to purchase other necessities like food, health care and transportation.
