Working Women of Tampa Bay welcomes a special guest to our next Power Lunch. Congresswoman Kathy Castor will be visiting with the group to discuss the Paycheck Fairness Act.

Paycheck Fairness Act which is a cause near and dear to Congresswoman Castor, would
"put the burden on employers to show that any pay gaps between men and women were caused by reasons other than their gender. While the wage gap has certainly narrowed with the past generation of working women - in 1967 women only earned about 58 cents to a man’s dollar - progress has stalled in recent years. If progress continues at its current rate, it will take 45 years to eradicate the wage gap.

Rep. Kathy Castor is the Tampa Bay area's voice in the U.S. Congress. She is serving her third term representing Florida's 11th Congressional district, which includes Tampa, St. Petersburg and parts of Hillsborough, Pinellas and Manatee counties. She was originally elected in 2006 and re-elected by voters in 2008 and 2010. Castor is the first woman to represent Hillsborough and Pinellas counties in the U.S. Congress.

Castor focuses on issues vital to Tampa Bay area families and businesses and is committed to building a stronger economy. She works on initiatives that create jobs, improve schools, provide access to affordable health care, and protect consumers and the environment. Castor is an outspoken advocate on behalf of the hardworking families, students and seniors of the Tampa Bay region
